ON THE WAY

A lot of opinion polls have lately been showing real support growing for Scotland finally kicking away from England.

This makes me very happy but I still can only say 'About bloody time.'

It is no real surprise though. I think the Scots have always been in favour of full independence but a number of factors have combined to stop it happening.

I also have a background in political science and when I have looked at the stats it goes in waves, with the low point of each wave being higher than the low point of the preceding wave so to speak. Therefore, I have always thought it will come sometime when I am middle-aged but it definitely will come.

Events may be making it come sooner.

I hope so. I will be happy the day it comes, I assure you.

    I hope Scotland and Wales both have their own government and break out of the clutches of the empire. My friend, Croila in Edinburgh has filled me in on this one and she's for it as well. Good luck to yer.

    For the sakes of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce...I too want it to happen very much. And I'm not referring to the Braveheart characters...that wasn't historically correct...MEL! Although I enjoyed the movie because their story needed to be told to a larger world audience, it needed to be more correct. The real historical truth was good enough and very exciting in my opinion. These guys were men among men...and even if it comes centuries after they are gone...it will be made right once and for all. Can you tell I've got some vested ancestry in this? The first book I read about the Bruce I couldn't put it down it was so fascinating.

    A multi-cultural, independent Scotland is a dream worth pursuing, so long as there is no backlash against the English living here.

    Meanwhile, you should head over to Blunt Cogs to catch up on the latest festive storylines and a truly awesome creastion by Monstee. You could also give some consideration to a BC seasonal storyline of your own.
