Should I change the cartoon on the opening page? It sort of requires whoever comes to the site to have read 1984.

Why not? But not because someone may have not read 1984.

    Here's one you could use:

Gaaack, Guerrilla, looking at that,I felt a ghost walking on my grave!

MTT: why do you feel compelled to explain it? Let people do a little homework, help stamp out mental deterioration in this fading replublic. Or if YOU feel like it, rotate with other thoughtful toons you like ... like if it's Tuesday, it must be Orwell, etc. Just a thought. D.K.

    omg that was hideous.

I'd prefer a shorter cartoon, but I agree with Guerrilla as to the choice and why/why not.

    good points both

think i am going to rotate it.

    sorry amelopsis - simultyping!!

i think i will change it every so often. there is a problem with making it shorter because it wouldn't really fit the template then.

No! I think we should all be stimulated to discover things beyond our own limitations, cultural, literary or whatever. I spent the first 18 years of my son's life handing on things, literary, musical, artistic etc etc, to him, and now I've spent the last ten years of his life learning things from him....Experience teaches, all ways.

As my Grandfather would say: "I resemble [rather than "resent"] that remark!"

I do like the swipe at "realists" though. This cartoon is great.

I like the new one, but seriously... what kind of weirdo hasn't read 1984? Why do you care about their ill-informed opinion anyway?! ;-)

Love your cartoon, dude. Do whatever the heck you like. I don't think you need to have read 1984 to like it.

Thumping The Tub Video

Image Hosted by

I have made a few short movies. Here are links to free downloads for them all in the order that I made them (as far as I can remember). Please feel free to use, distribute, disagree with, shout at etc etc

  • Praise The Lord and Pass The Ammunition
  • This was a REAL song from World War 2. I was so stunned by it I had to make a movie

  • How Far Is It From Here to Nuremberg
  • This is my attempt at a video for the excellent, if worrying, David Rovics (see links) song

  • What You Like
  • I believe the word for this is "splenetic". Only 20 seconds long.

  • Imperial Measures
  • What is going on in Iraq? Some things you knew, some you didn't. A couple of bits of info are out of date now.

  • Wish You Were Here
  • Wish You Were Here is a 6 minute film about the unprecendted rate of animal extinction we are currently experiencing

  • Gorillas and us
  • I don't like creationism, neither did Douglas Adams

The inaugural 'Arse of the month' award goes to our very own Scottish First Minister Jack (Joke) McConnell. He seems to spend a lot of his time sucking up to english politicians and yet it appears they don't even know his name. Follow the link to see..
