GIVE QUICHE A CHANCE
Having seen this programme would help but is not essential. In short it is a point about protesting and protestors. For sci-fi type reasons which I won't go into at the moment one of these people has lost his sense of anger, one has lost his fear, one has lost his guilt and one has lost his vanity...

    i have met plenty of most of the kinds in this piece mickey, but i know what you mean!

    Graeme - they tried to make a US version of this show and heres the difference...

    the scenario for the UK show was that there had never really been a sci-fi show with working class people in it. everyone was always a sort of middle class officer type. so they wanted to change that and have working class people in space.

    the scenario is that the main character is that due to a nuclear accident he is frozen in time and wakes up three million years later and is the last human being alive. he has a hologram, a robot and creature who evolved from the ships cat for company. he is also 3 million years travel from earth.

    the US tv company wanted to change the scenario to this...

    he is only 300 years away from earth, the human race is alive and well and the mission is no longer for him to get home to earth but for him to 'get babes'

    i believe the creators rightly sent a fax to the US tv company with the simple message...

    "fuck off and die"
