    Iran and australia confusion!

    unbelievable.

i heard that only about 10% of americans have a passport. bush had only been to mexico before he stole an election

Wow I did not realize that about BUSH. With all the money and opportunities?? Thats sad. No wonder we cannot conceive of better priorities. Europeans also seemed much more comfortable with dissent and expression too.

I suspect they'd have difficulty locating a neighbouring state, maybe even their own state. Scary though!

they are coming down on that here too lily.

i am not trying to do an 'aren't americans stupid' thing. i am sure they spoke to plenty of reasonable people too and its been edited. i just think its funny.

I'm not sure its even that, how did they supply the right amended map to the right idiot? It qualifies as "truth even if its set up" in my book though. I heard some crazy % of united statesians can't find the USA on a map.

I dunno, I have a decent grasp of geography, but I pored over atlases and National Geographics at home. Would you know where your country was if you never had access to that material? Easy for people with books in their homes to mock...

But yeah, how can you not find "I didn't realise S. Korea was so much smaller than N. Korea" funny?

Michael, you need to add an "all but #1" option to your Iran poll.

Oh, God that's bad. So proud to be an American, right now.

I would have liked to see a followup question: "Would you be willing to serve in an invasion of ______? Would you like to sign up now?"

    hi shane and everyone

nursing a bad hangover so not been around today.

mew, you can vote for as many options as you like.

good question neil, unfortunatley, it seems that even tho recruitment is down people are still willing to do such things.

Rick Mercer used to do a bit called "Talking to Americans" and the crap they'd go along with or come up with on their own was mind boggling. (or at least evidence of a boggled mind!)

He once famously got Bush to congratulate our then prime minister "Jean Poutine" (poutine being a dish of french fries with cheese and gravy).

I couldn't find a direct link to this video, but I hope this little kid is indicative of Canada's youth. (please, please, please...)

    Watch the 'Youth Vote' video:

sorry but you'll have to copy & paste

(I hope the hangover's not beating on you too hard)

just watched it. that kid was amazing!

American geography is infamously poor. I'd be intrigued to see what the average Brit on the street would say if posed with the same question, mind.

Humour aside, it occurs to me that the most damning thing about the clip is the fact that people consider the question legitimate. If somebody asks, "What country should we invade next?" The only rational answer is something along the lines of, "That's not for me to decide. Armed intervention should be a last resort. If you consider such a startegy neccesary make your case, present me with the evidence and I'll think about it."

I'd have to agree. Let's bomb the crap out of Austrailia... really.. it's just an island full of inmates anyway. What have they given us? INXS? Koala Bears? Fosters? For Christ sake, we could invade and turn it into a summer home for Tom DeLay!

    Arse of the month

The inaugural 'Arse of the month' award goes to our very own Scottish First Minister Jack (Joke) McConnell. He seems to spend a lot of his time sucking up to english politicians and yet it appears they don't even know his name. Follow the link to see..
