NOTHING MORE TO SAY |
In solidarity with the grandmothers arrested in New York recently I would just like to stick this photo of a couple of our more chronologically challenged people getting in on the act.... I don't think there is much more to say. |

Must say, very nice picture.
Sometimes, even "next-blog-hopping" can yield good results.

i am new to this. what do you mean?

Michael, at the top of your page there is a "Next Blog" button...

By the way, River, I am enjoying your poetry very much, and your friend's as well. Thanks.

Yeah, the counters easist to install, or, maybe better said, the ones with blogger specific instructions are to be found in the blogger help page on counters.
http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=761&query=counters&topic=0&type=f
(If that link doesn't work, just go to blgger, got to help, and search "counter")
I didn't like the one's they had, because, although free, they all counted off site, which meant that some company would know who and when came to my site.(Like google doesn't in blogger, right?)
I know, I know, but as I said I'm a privacy freak, so I had a friend who is pretty handy at coding gin one up and put it onto my blog.
One thing. In order to do this, you are going to have to paste code into your "template" page which has the html code for your page on it.
BIG HINT!!! Before you modify that page, copy all the text and paste it into notepad and save it, so you can then bring it back if there is a problem.
The directions from the blogger help and the counter sites they recommend are really clear, so I wouldn't expect a problem, but it's never bad policy to save before changes.
And, I would also offer this, as long as you're getting comments, you know somebody is reading you, besides me.
Hope that helps.

Hi Jos, Thanks. :)
In the morning today, there were two other comments, which I found very interesting. Since comments don't self-destruct, I suppose, they have been removed as per instructions.
I next-blog-hop a lot and after a lot of crap, sometimes, one comes across a well-written blog...that's when I leave a comment. I must have done that a total of 6 times. Among them, only one blogger came back to visit my blog and stayed on to become a friend.
My blog has enough readers (yes, yes, the visitor counter) and commentators, so this is not really about getting more traffic for myself, but about making someone new in the blog world feel welcome and let that person know that there are people who are reading and are appreciative of their efforts.
Sounds shitty put down like that, but when I thought back to why I did write those 6 comments, I realised that all of them were addressing existing problems (not surprising that all of them questioned the Iraq war and Bush's politics).
So, Mr Tubthumper, I hope you have a good time in blogdom and keep those posts coming.
Cheers!
